Evaluation task 7
During the preliminary task I learnt almost everything I know about filming, doing this helped me during the filming of the coursework. My camera skills grew over the time that we had between the preliminary task and the filming of the coursework. As this is my first year studying Media i did not know about things like match on action 180 degree rule and shot/reverse shot, this all being taught to me during the preliminary task. During the preliminary task my group learnt a lot about continuity, as we filmed on several different days we had various costumes. We finally overcame this by borrowing similar clothes from other people, but this did slow us down. Having this happen to our group in the preliminary task I made sure that this was not an issue when filming the main coursework. Another main thing that i learnt is that you should always plan. For the preliminary task my group when straight into filming without doing much planning because of this we did alot of unnecessary filming whilst we decided what shots we wanted so for the main coursework i made sure that i made a storyboard with as much detail of the shot as possible.
Evaluation Task 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
These are the two main peices of equiptment that we used to make our film opening.
These are the two main peices of equiptment that we used to make our film opening.
To film our opening sequence we used the Samsung SMX-C10, when playing around with the camera checking all of the differnet shots it seemed pretty simple, but when we started filming we came across many different problems.

I edited the film using iMovie which is an apple product which comes with the computer. I decided to use iMovie as many people in my class were having problems with the compatibality with the camera files and AdobePremier. This was the fist time that i have used iMovie, i was very easy quick and simple to use, using iMovie was a good idea as it meant that i could edit the opening sequence in my own time at my own pace.

Evaluation Task 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
From the questionnaires that i made i found that the majourity of the people who would watch my film were teenage boys, aged 16-19.
From the questionnaires that i made i found that the majourity of the people who would watch my film were teenage boys, aged 16-19.

Billy Bob is a 17 yr old boy who can relate to our film 'Judgment Day' very well. He as many of the same tastes as the main actor Jimmy, listening to the same genre of music and having the same hobbies.
Evaluation Tack 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A production company has sole responsibility over the film from start to finish. They raise money the money for the film, produce the film, hire everyone who is needed, and basically make sure that the project is running smoothly. Examples of production companies are Dreamworks and Miramax, the production company for my film is Orange Entertainment. Distributors are companies who market the film, they make the film known and sell it various places. They determine how many copies of the film to make and they show the film to prospective buyers.
I think this film could be distributed by a company such as UK Film Council- this would be where most of the funding would come from. I think that this film could be shown at small film festivals such as The Portobello Film Festival.
The titles that apper in my film are the most important people/companies who worked on it. I put the most important people at the beginning and at the end, making sure people will remember them and following conventions.

Evaluation Task 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Jimmy edwards is a character from the american tv drama One tree Hill. jimmy is alot like our character johnny since she feels like a outcast and she is bullied by other pupils. They are both left with no other option but two take a gun to school to try and make all the people who have caused them pain. Neither of them kill anyone or have it in them to commit murder. This is where their similarities differ, as jimmy takes his gun in to scare people and actually does shoot someone but not fatally. Johnny goes to school to show people what they have done to him and show them who they really are.
Evaluation Task 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My title sequence follows most of the codes and conventions of a title sequence but it differs slightly. The titles are white with a black outline, i decided to put them over the moving image as i did not want to draw attention away from the picture. I also put them at the bottom of the screen so they do not cover up the moving picture. I think i follow the conventions of opening titles as i have put the names of the most important people who are involved in the sequence, the order of the titles go; production company, producer, director, main actor and finally title of film.

Music
This is the song i have chosen for the opening secuence to my film. This song Running Up That Hill by placebo goes very well with the emotions portrayed in the opening seqence
It doesn't hurt me.
Placebo - Running Up That Hill
It doesn't hurt me.
You wanna feel how it feels?
You wanna know, know that it doesn't hurt me?
You wanna hear about the deal I'm making?
You *be running up that hill*
You and me *be running up that hill*
And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building.
If I only could, oh...
You don't want to hurt me,
But see how deep the bullet lies.
Unaware that I'm tearing you asunder.
There is thunder in our hearts, baby.
So much hate for the ones we love?
Tell me, we both matter, don't we?
You, *be running up that hill*
You and me, *be running up that hill
You and me won't be unhappy.
And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building,
If I only could, oh...
'C'mon, baby, c'mon, c'mon, darling,
Let me steal this moment from you now.
C'mon, angel, c'mon, c'mon, darling,
Let's exchange the experience, oh...'
And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
With no problems. x2

After watching episode 16 season 3 of One Tree Hill i decided to do a film revolving around a school shooting.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3G2zSP32_AI then researched films with school shootings :
- Elephant- Two high school students, who calmly plan and perform a mass execution of their classmates and school administrators in the course of one day.
- Zero Day- Two friends declare war on their high school classmates and plan a terrifying assault
- Home Room
- American Yearbook
- The class
Each film has a different way of presenting their opening titles, the opening titles of Zero Day are done in mostly post-production focusing on a series of photos and home videos. The photos are of the two main characters at a young age

Pitch
A lot of high school tv dramas feature a school shooting but we have decided to take it one step further by making a movie about a young teenage girl by the name of Amy who has had a hard time at school from being bullied to being ignored and even beaten up. The film starts with Amy waking up in the morning writing her last blog post then picking up a gun and heading to school. The movie will center around each of her blogs and will flash back to what happens to her in each. After all of this it will go back Amy walking into her graduation ceremony getting up on stage pull the gun out on the audience she will then say 'this your punishment for how you treated me' Surprising everyone Amy will turn the gun on herself and then fire. The film will end with all of the students at her funeral, all distraught with the idea that they are the reason why she is dead.
